Kijewski/Kocur and the SSS Method

Kijewski/Kocur

In 1996 Marek Kijewski began working with Małgorzata Malinowska, known as Kocur. Their collaborative works were signed Kijewski/Kocur. They include Golden Shot, Saint II, Transfer and works from the Help Yourself series.

Surfing, scanning, sampling

The duo’s working method was known as SSS: surfing, scanning, sampling. It involved finding cultural motifs, selecting fragments and combining them into new compositions. The sculptures drew on mythology, religion and animation, using materials including Lego bricks, sweets, fur and gold.
